A Hopkinsville man will face charges, and a woman was arrested for drugs after a traffic stop in Trigg County on Tuesday.
Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle along Hopkinsville Road after they spotted an equipment issue. The Hopkinsville man driving the vehicle was operating it on a DUI-suspended license and could not show proof of insurance. He also reportedly consented to the vehicle being searched. It was during that search that the deputies found a backpack that is said to have contained what was believed to be methamphetamine along with syringes.
The female passenger in the vehicle reportedly claimed the bag was hers.
The driver was cited for the DUI-suspended license and the vehicle violations, while the woman was arrested and charged with meth possession.
