On Tuesday, Holiday World theme park unveiled the first look at a new coaster ride coming next spring.
At the International Association of Amusement Park and Attractions Expo in Orange County, Florida, the carts for Holiday World's $10 million Thanksgiving-themed coaster went on display.
The “Good Gravy!” family coaster won't be a traditional loop that begins and ends at the same place. Guests will board a train shaped like a giant gravy boat, which will be pulled backwards uphill before flying forwards through the station onto cranberry-colored track, hitting a maximum speed of 37 miles per hour. The train will fly through a giant cranberry jelly can, narrowly avoiding a 20-foot-tall whisk and an 18-foot-tall rolling pin before flying up a 77-foot-tall spike and repeating the journey backward. The journey will be nearly 1,500 feet long.
Construction of Good Gravy! began over the summer, and track started to arrive in early November.
Holiday World plans for Good Gravy! to be open to the public in May.
