During Tuesday’s Paducah City Commission meeting, Commissioner Raynarldo Henderson called for city and county leaders to meet "in the ring” and discuss their issues with the E-911 and Sportsplex projects.

Henderson and Paducah Mayor George Bray both said they believe the city and county will ultimately agree on the project, but not until they are able to fix what is broken. However, Henderson said they could not fix what they do not face.

According to Henderson, both city and county leaders need to be honest and transparent enough to admit that both sides have some issues that need to be addressed.

Henderson said he knows that city and county leaders want what is best, but said they might need to go to the “Julian Carroll Convention Center, put on the boxing gloves, and duke it out.”

He said that way they can say what needs to be said, they can be honest with each other, and come out of the meeting with a solution that will be best for both governments.
