Hematite Creek bridge in LBL closed after inspection

Officials with Land Between the Lakes have closed the bridge crossing Hematite Creek on Energy Lake Road after it received a poor rating during a recent inspection.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has set up barricades and barrels to close the bridge.

Meanwhile, LBL officials will work with the state to determine the best way to restore the bridge as quickly as possible.

Hematite Trail, Long Creek Trail, Center Furnace Trail, Honker Trail, and Woodlands Nature Station are still accessible by Silver Trail Road. 

Energy Lake Campground, Taylor Bay Campground and Honker Trails are still accessible from Mulberry Flats Road.
