Ground was broken in Richmond, Kentucky Monday on a new law enforcement training facility named in honor of Calloway County's Chief Deputy Jody Cash.
Members of the Cash family, state and local officials, and staff from the Department of Criminal Justice Training joined Governor Andy Beshear during the ceremony.
The Jody Cash Multipurpose Training Facility will provide a 50-yard, 30-lane firing range designed for officers to learn intensive and specialized training.
The new center will support training for all of Kentucky's law enforcement agencies, aside from Bowling Green, Lexington, and Louisville Metro police departments, and state police, which have hteir own independent academies.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2025.
