Graves County felon charged with possession of 13 guns, drugs

An investigation of a convicted felon in possession of several guns led to an arrest in Graves County on Saturday.

Deputies searched a home in the Melber community on Wednesday and Thursday after receiving a tip. The sheriff’s office said deputies found 13 guns and methamphetamine during their search.

Deputies were told at 2 a.m. on Saturday that 34-year-old Larry Sparks had returned to the home. When the deputies returned they reported finding Sparks in possession of more methamphetamine and other drugs.

Sparks was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and other drug charges.
