The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced Wednesday the Fulton County Fiscal Court will receive $200,000 in County Road Aid emergency funds for the repair of landslides along Beech Grove Road.
The roadway has been closed due to landslides and erosion at four locations.
The county will receive 50 percent of the funding to cover up-front expenses, with the remainder provided when the work is completed. KYTC says the county is responsible for 20 percent of the total cost.
The county plans to place sheet piling along areas where roadway embankments have been eroded up to the edge of the pavement. Once repairs are completed, guardrail will be added to the reinforced areas.
