Friendship Road section now closed until fall for rebuild

A section of North Friendship Road in the Lone Oak area is now closed until later this fall.

KY 1286 will be closed to through traffic to allow full reconstruction of the busy shortcut between US 45 and US 62.  Because of extensive excavation, no through traffic will be allowed, but local access will be maintained for business owners and property owners at each end of the project.  

Lakeview Drive will be closed at Magnolia Lane, and Seneca Lane will also be affected by the closure.

Construction along the existing roadway and new additional frontage includes creation of a multi-use trail, cement treatment of the roadway base, completion of connections to the existing roadway and side roads, and final paving.

This section is phase one of four that will continue on Friendship Road, ultimately to US 60. The work will also include a wider roadway, realigning curves and the addition of two roundabouts near US 60.
