Four people were saved from flood waters in Marshall County on Monday.
The Marshall County Rescue Squad was called out just after 2 p.m. for a report of kayakers that got tangled up in debris along the flooded Clarks River.
Rescue Squad Chief Kenny Pratt told West Kentucky Star that three women were kayaking along the flooded stretch of river when two of them were dumped out of their kayaks. The third kayaker was caught on a tree in the river.
Rescuers used a shallow, swift-water boat to locate the women and pull them out of the water. Reportedly, none of the three were wearing life jackets.
During the team's efforts, they also rescued a man who fell in the river while trying to help the kayakers.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Fairdealing-Olive Fire Department, East Marshall Fire Department, South Marshall Fire Department, and Marshall County Ambulance Service also responded to assist.
