Former Graves County Commonwealth's Attorney Richie Kemp has joined the Office of the Attorney General.

Kemp is now a part of Attorney General Russell Coleman's Special Prosecutions Unit and he will based out of the AG's office in Benton. Kemp's appointment further establishes the presence of the Attorney General's Office in far-western Kentucky.

Coleman said, "Richie's talent and West Kentucky roots will expand our ability to reach outside of the Golden Triangle to keep families safe. I'm grateful he has chosen to continue to dedicate himself to public service. Together with our entire Special Prosecutions team, Richie is ready to support County and Commonwealth's Attorneys across Kentucky as they deliver justice for Kentuckians."

Kemp served as the Graves prosecutor from 2019 through 2025 after a decade as an assistant Commonwealth's Attorney.
