First taste of winter; wind chills in the 20s by Thursday

We've been spoiled by the warm weather of late, but the chilly side of fall will pay us a visit for the rest of the work week.

A significant cool down is on its way Wednesday through Saturday, with gusty winds Wednesday and Thursday. Highs Thursday and Friday afternoon may not even reach 50 degrees.

Wind chill values are expected to drop into the mid to upper 20s for a good portion of the area Thursday morning and again on Friday morning. Actual temperatures are forecast to be 35 Thursday morning, 31 Friday morning, 29 Saturday morning and 33 on Sunday morning.

This will be our first stretch of below average temperatures for most of the fall. Normal highs in Paducah this week are 55, and normal lows 35.

A warm up will begin late in the weekend, with chances of light rain returning Sunday night into Monday.
