An agreement has been reached on financing for Paducah's downtown City Block project.
The developer for the downtown boutique hotel, Weyland Ventures, announced that Paducah Bank has committed to the financing part of the project.
Weyland Ventures and the City of Paducah signed a development agreement in 2020. Both parties said they have completed their portions of that agreement, paving the way for groundbreaking and construction in the spring.
The block, bordered by Jefferson, Second, Broadway and Water Street will feature an 81-room boutique hotel with a rooftop bar and a restaurant. The hotel's entrance would be on the Jefferson Street side.
The first phase of the project will include expanded public gathering areas at Second, Broadway, and Water Street, and new paved public walking areas and green space along both Second and Water Streets.
The second phase will include construction of a mixed-use building on Broadway with storefronts on the lower level and a living space on the upper story.
