KY 387, known as Dam 50 Road, will close in Crittenden County for about four months to replace the bridge over Crooked Creek.
The work beginning Monday will block access to KY 91 for most residents along a 3-mile section of KY 387.
The closure will also require an extended detour for visitors seeking access to the Riverview Park campground and boat ramp on the Ohio River.
The project was let in January of 2024, but had to await the delivery of steel for the bridge before construction could start. Completion date is estimated to be August 15.
Jim Smith Contracting is the prime contractor on the $4.3 million bridge replacement project that also includes the bid for construction of another bridge along KY 783 in Calloway County.
