Early morning stop nets Smithland man on meth charge

A traffic stop in Lone Oak early Thursday morning landed a Smithland man behind bars.

Deputies said K9 Vegas alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, reportedly leading to the discovery of 4.3 grams of methamphetamine.

The driver, 38-year-old Jedidiah S. Skinner, was taken to the McCracken County Jail.

He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and failure to use the proper signal.
