Dumpsters placed in Mayfield for collection of household trash

The City of Mayfield is placing dumpsters around the city for collection of household trash.

The dumpsters are posted with signs that specify they are for household trash only, including garbage, discarded food, paper, and packaging.

Officials said electronics, appliances, hazardous waste, vegetative debris, and construction debris should not be placed in the dumpsters.

Mayfield Mayor Kathy O'Nan emphasized that the dumpsters are for household trash only.

"We've had 12 days without trash pickup.  I know that many of the families who have been able to stay in their homes have accumulated household waste that requires proper disposal. These dumpsters are specifically for household trash only," Mayor O'Nan said.
