Contour Airlines has been selected to provide air service to fly out of its third airport in our region.
Officials at the Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois posted on Thursday that the U.S. Department of Transportation approved Contour’s proposal to take over their federal contract currently held by Cape Air.
Beginning August 1, Contour will provide service to Chicago O’Hare Airport with 30-seat regional jets.
Cape Air will continue their flights from Marion until Contour takes over.
Contour had recently also been awarded the contracts to the airports in Paducah and Cape Girardeau.
