The Williamson County Sheriff's office said 36-year-old Robert W. Aumiller of Harrisburg, Illinois shot his estranged wife, identified as 32-year-old Michelle L. Aumiller, near Integrated Health in Carterville.
Robert's vehicle was later located in a field near the intersection of Cardinal Lane and Cypress Drive in Cambria. The vehicle was surrounded by law enforcement where Robert was discovered to be deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The injured female was transported to Carbondale Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

An active shooter situation that occurred this morning in Carterville, Illinois has been resolved.
The City of Carterville said authorities responded to a report of shots fired at Integrated Health of Southern Illinois, located on Plaza Drive along Illinois Route 13. They said one person sustained gunshot wounds and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
The shooting suspect was said to have left the scene driving a blue Kia. WFCN News said police searched for the suspect along Cardinal Road West of Cambria Road in Williamson County.
The city said the attack was not random and allegedly domestic in nature. The suspect has been located and no longer possesses a risk to the public.
John A. Logan College, located adjacent to the shooting scene, told WFCN News that they were notified of the shooting at 9:05 am and locked down their campus for a short time. Carterville High School and Marion High School were also reported to be briefly locked down.
