Duke turns himself in; faces more charges in Carlisle County

A Bardwell man is now in custody after authorities had been searching for him in connection to a burglary on June 20th. 

The Carlisle County Sheriff's Office said that 19-year-old Hunter L. Duke turned himself in at the Ballard County Jail on Thursday. Ballard County officials contacted the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office which served Duke with outstanding warrants.

Deputies said that in an interview with Duke, he reportedly admitted to his involvement in a residential burglary where prescription drugs were taken.  Duke also is said to have confessed to taking a debit card that did not belong to him. 

Duke was also questioned about a reported sexual assault of an underage female that is believed to have taken place in Bardwell over the weekend. Deputies said that Duke acknowledged having sexual contact with the victim.     

Duke has been charged with burglary, theft of a legend drug, and theft of a debit card. He has been additionally charged with unlawful transaction with a minor – illegal sex act with a victim under 16. That is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
