Calvert City Drive-In going up for sale

The Calvert City Drive-In is going up for sale.

Steve Harrington, partial owner of the drive-in, told West Kentucky Star his family has decided to sell the business for $974,000.

Many people began speculating about the future of the drive-in after they failed to open in April, which would usually be the beginning of the season.

Concern for the future of the theatre even inspired the creation of a Facebook group called 'Keep Calvert Drive In Open,' with 2,900 members.

Harrington shared his appreciation for everyone that has supported the business for so many years.

He said, "We appreciate all the attendance, all the people that's come through the years, all the loyal customers."

Harrington said the drive-in will likely be advertised by a real estate agency soon.
