A New Concord man was arrested after an altercation on Tuesday where he allegedly struck two deputies.

Calloway County deputies responded to a residence on Norris Drive where they were told that 69-year-old Delbert Orey had assaulted an individual and locked them out of the residence.

Once deputies arrived Orey would not come outside to speak to them. When he cracked the door, the deputies attempted to keep it open when he struck one deputy on the face. Orey resisted being detained and struck the second deputy. No one was in need of medical attention.

He was arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Center, charged with assault and resisting arrest.
