Calloway County Fire-Rescue has spent the last several weekends participating in water rescue training.
Over the last two weekends, some members of the Fire-Rescue team have taken on Swift Water Rescue Team training.
In early June, members tackled the classroom portion of the training, then put themselves to the test out on the lake over the weekend.
Officials said the training was important since they do get called for water rescues, whether it's flooded roads or someone in need on Kentucky Lake.
They said the class isn't easy to complete, and shared their appreciation for the men and women of their department that have taken the time to participate.
