A traffic stop in Calloway County Saturday night led to the arrest of a California man.
Deputies with the Calloway County Sheriff's Department pulled over a vehicle around 9:30 on Old Murray Paris Road.
31-year-old Wesley D. Alexander of Portola, CA was found to possess approximately one gram of illicit drugs and just under 11 grams of suspected fentanyl.
The investigation led deputies to believe Alexander was in the area selling the fentanyl.
During the arrest Alexander attempted to flee on foot. He was tased and lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility after being treated at Murray Calloway County Hospital for minor injuries.
Alexander faces multiple drug related charges and other offenses.
He was previously found guilty possessing methamphetamine in Calloway County in 2018.
