Local interstate travelers will be thrilled to see a famous Texas-sized gas station coming soon on I-24 at Clarksville.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council said Thursday that the Texas-based Buc-ee's mega-convenience stores will begin construction as soon as possible on a travel center at I-24's exit 1.

Buc-ee's is a chain of super-sized country stores and gas stations that have become a vacation destination in their own rite. They feature over 100 gas pumps, one thousand parking spaces and world-famous bathrooms and snacks.

Buc-ee’s Travel Center in New Braunfels, Texas, currently holds the world record for not only the largest convenience store but also the largest car wash.

Buc-ee’s recently completed its first Tennessee location in Crossville on I-40 between Nashville and Gatlinburg. A new Sevierville location is under construction with an opening expected next summer.
