A Bowling Green man was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine after a traffic stop in Murray.
Deputies from Calloway and Marshhall County stopped a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Joseph W. Morgan at a convenience store on North 12th Street. Police said Morgan was seen trying to conceal or get rid of suspected meth as he got out of the vehicle.
The vehicle was searched and deputies recovered a reported 532 grams, or over a pound of methamphetamine. Also seized was what is believed to be MDMA, more commonly known as Ecstasy. There was also a set of scales and other items consistent with trafficking in illegal drugs.
Morgan was arrested and charged with trafficking in meth and tampering with physical evidence. He was taken to the Calloway County Jail.
The Calloway County Sheriff's Office noted that Morgan was out on bond from McCracken County charges of meth and marijuana possession and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
