Body armor has been donated for a Marshall County Sheriff's Office K-9. K-9 Drax received the armor as a gift courtesy of a group called Vested Interest in K9s, Incorporated.

The vest Drax will wear was given in memory of Arthur L. Zimmerman by Cheryl Hopper of Hebron, Indiana. Vested Interest in K9s, Incorporated has gifted police agencies over 6,120 vests for dogs in all 50 states. The vests weigh between four and five pounds, come with a five-year warranty, and are valued at about $1,800.

Vested Interest in K9s, Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) that through private and corporate donations provides vests for working police dogs. The National Institute of Justice-certified vests provide protection from bullets and knives. Each one is made in America and custom-fitted to each dog.
