Benton man arrested on trafficking charges after pursuit

A Benton man was arrested and charged with trafficking in illegal drugs after a pursuit last week.

Marshall County Sheriff's deputies reportedly spotted 45-year-old Clinton Shane Boarders of Benton on a motorcycle along Dyke Road. They were aware that Boarders was wanted and tried to stop him. Boarders is said to have sped away from them, but crashed his bike in a yard he tried to turn into. He took off on foot but was quickly captured.

Boarders was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and marijuana, fleeing or evading police, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license, and having no insurance. Deputies also served him with the outstanding warrant for trafficking in meth and being a persistent felony offender.
