Benton man arrested after false report of a gunman

A Benton man was arrested after he allegedly falsely reported a gunman.

The Marshall County Sheriff's office said that 35-year-old Dalen Dunn called emergency officials on Monday and told them a gunman was at an apartment complex, threatening to shoot everyone.

Investigators watched video recorded at the time of the call and determined that there was no such gunman.

Dunn was arrested and charged with false reporting an incident which generates an emergency response.
