Bardwell man arrested on DUI charges

A Bardwell man was arrested on DUI charges Wednesday in Mayfield.

Mayfield Police said they were dispatched to a business on Paris Road for a report of an intoxicated man trying to drive away from the store.  Investigators identified the man as 68-year-old Ricky Cornett of Bardwell.

Investigators found a bottle of an alcoholic beverage inside of Cornett's vehicle that was nearly empty.  

Cornett was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and possession of open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle.

Cornett was transported to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center then to the Christian County Jail.
