A minor earthquake shook a portion of west Tennessee near the Mississippi River on Monday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, the magnitude 2.4 quake took place at about 7:30 a.m. It was centered about 4 miles northwest of Ridgely, Tennessee, or ten miles southwest of Reelfoot Lake.

No damage was reported.

Monday's shake was one of 16 small tremors in the last two weeks along the New Madrid fault zone.
