2.8 quake detected in southeast Missouri

A 2.8 magnitude earthquake was detected in southeast Missouri on Monday morning.

The quake at 7 a.m. was located three miles southwest of Howardville, Missouri, or about 18 miles west of Hickman, Kentucky.

It was measured at a depth of 8 kilometers.

It was the fourth tremor in the past week within a five mile radius.
