145th Fancy Farm picnic set for this weekend

What has been described as Kentucky's political Super Bowl, the 145th St. Jerome Fancy Farm Picnic, is set to get underway this weekend.

The festivities begin at 7am on Friday with mass at the picnic grounds and then the blessing of the meat and placing it on the BBQ pits to follow at 8am. 

Things resume that day at 4:30pm with the Knights of Columbus Fish Fry at the KC Hall. 

Then at 6pm it's the 1-mile Classic Run with the 5K Fun Run to follow at 7pm. The raffle drawing concludes the day at 10pm.

A full day of activities from 8am until 10pm are slated for Saturday. Barbeque sales start at 8am, the official start of the picnic is at 10am. 

Of course on Saturday there will be food, music, bingo, crafts and political speaking.  For the full list of speakers coming to the event click here.

Things will conclude Saturday night with music between 7-10pm and the raffle drawing at 10pm.
