The 5k run/walk will go off at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. The race is a benefit for The Light House, a ministry for women and children dealing with addiction or escaping domestic violence. The starting point will be at 513 E. Broadway in Mayfield, the site of the former Budget Inn. The property has been purchased by The Light House and is being renovated to serve as a refuge.
The new facility will replace their previous building that was destroyed in the 2021 tornado.
