The Shawnee Development Council in southern Illinois continues to hand out toys this week to deserving kids.
In August, the council received a semi load of toys from Toys For Tots. For the past few weeks, they've partnered with Tackle Hunger to distribute the toys to kids at several southern Illinois food banks.
Parents and grandparents will be welcome to pick up to 3 toys per child in your household at no cost. The upcoming events are open to all families in each community.
Toy distribution continues Tuesday at the Pope Pantry in Golconda from 9:30 til 12:30; at the SDC office in Karnak on Wednesday from 10-2; and Thursday from 10-2 at Rise Market in Cairo.
Future stops are scheduled in Vienna, McClure, Anna, Pulaski and Brookport. Check the Shawnee Development Council Facebook page for the complete schedule.
