Teacher of the Month

The December Teacher of the Month took us to Mayfield where we visited Northside Baptist Christian School. Northside School is Preschool – 12^th grade and is a ministry of Northside Baptist Church. The 2^nd grade was all smiles watching their teacher, Paige Darnell, receive the West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Month Award for December.
 
Ms. Darnell will likely spend the prize money on her classroom (don’t all teachers?). While she is in her sixth year of teaching, four and a half of those have been at Northside and she plans to stay there! When asked if she will always teach second grade she replied, “I think it’s the one that fits me!”

West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Month, sponsored by Scott Walker Construction, is awarded each month of the school year. As the December winner, Ms. Darnell will join the future 2024-2025 awardees for West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Year 2024 – 2025. Each teacher’s school receives a yard sign to show that a “Teacher of the Month Works Here.” It’s a great addition to the school entrances and a way schools can show off their winning teacher!
