Paducah students named National History Day state champions

Students from Paducah Tilghman and Paducah Middle School were recently named National History Day state champions.

Three Paducah Tilghman students and one Paducah Middle student qualified for the competition this summer at the University of Maryland.

Representing Tilghman is Azlyn Goodyke, Liam Black and Elena Adkins. Who placed first in the National History Day senior group documentary and won the American Patriotism award with their documentary, "A Real American If There Ever Was One."

Caroline Adkins of Paducah Middle School placed first in the National History Day junior individual website. On her website, "Madeline McDowell Breckenridge: Champion of Debate and Diplomacy for Rights."
