LBL will keep most facilities open over the holidays

For those who enjoy being outdoors over the holidays, officials have posted what will be open to enjoy at Land Between the Lakes for Christmas and the New Year.

The Golden Pond Visitor Center will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve, and reopen Dec. 26. It will also close at 1pm on New Years Eve, and reopen Jan. 2.

The Turkey Bay off-highway vehicle area will be open with permit, but you'll need to get your permit before Christmas Day. The gatehouse will be closed. It'll also be open on New Year's Day.

The LBL elk and bison prairie will remain open, as well as the Golden Pond target range and the Wranglers day use area.

As far as campgrounds, the self-service, back country, Energy Lake and Wranglers campgrounds will all be open.
