Hospital safety group gives Lourdes top grade

Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital is boasting a recently released "A" grade in the spring Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.

The national distinction recognizes the hospital's achievements in providing safer health care. 

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization assigns grades to over 2,600 hospitals across the country based on thirty different national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents, infections, and systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

Lourdes said Leapfrog was developed under the guidance of a national expert panel and its methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent.
