Kelsey Kennady of Paducah went from being an audience member to the star of the show.
Kennady won the top prize in the 19th Annual American Cancer Society Coad Toyota Paducah Dancing With Our Stars, presented by Harrah's Metropolis and Stor-Mor Portable Buildings. The annual fundraising event was held Saturday night at the Paducah Convention Center.
The gala raised $390,462.
Kennady is the Foundation Fund Manager for Baptist Health Care Systems. She says she had attended DWOS in years past. She asked if she could be in this year's competition to support family and friends who have battled cancer. Kennady was the top fundraiser, bringing in $76,870.
Tara Wise Sawvel, an executive territory manager for Eli Lily and Company, was 1st runner up raising $71,962. 2nd runner up went to Amy Farmer-Demeter, the Casino Marketing Manager for Harrah's Metropolis, who raised $51,481.
