Grain bin safety training in Smithland Monday

A grain bin safety training event will take place on Monday night at 6 p.m. in Smithland.

The event is sponsored by the Livingston Central FFA in conjunction with the Crittenden County FFA. Organizers said that Dale Dobson from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture will lead the class. Rescue squad members, firefighters, and farmers from across the area are all encouraged to attend.

There will be food, medical screenings, and door prizes at the event, which will take place at the Livingston County Fairgrounds.

The purchase of grain bin rescue equipment in Livingston County was funded by a $5,000 grant applied for and awarded to Livingston Central senior Josie Taylor.
