Last week, Calloway County Middle School won the DOE's virtual West Kentucky Regional Science Bowl to advance to the Nationals.
The five-member team will compete in DOE's National Science Bowl finals virtually from April 28 to May 2.
Calloway Middle Academic Coach Scott Pile said he is proud of his team's work ethic and dedication.
The Regional Science Bowl tournament is a quick-recall, fast-paced, question-and-answer contest where students are quizzed on their knowledge of biology, chemistry, Earth and space, energy, mathematics and physics.
Murray Middle School finished second and Heath Middle School third in the regional contest.
Other middle schools competing in this year's event were Henderson County North, Lone Oak, North Marshall, St Mary and Massac Junior High.
The top 16 high school and middle school teams in the National Bowl will receive $1,000 for their science departments.
