Paducah's 8th of August Emancipation Celebration continues this weekend.

Today's events include the Emancipation Dance at 8 p.m. at Carson Park's Floral Hall

On Saturday, the free inaugural Emancipation Celebration 5K Walk/Run will take place. Registration is at 6 a.m. and the race begins at 7 a.m.at Robert Coleman Park on South 9th Street

The Emancipation Celebration Parade line-up begins at 9 a.m. with the parade beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will start at 12th and Broadway and will proceed down Broadway to Walter Jetton Boulevard. The parade will then turn right on Walter Jetton and finish at Robert Coleman Park.

After the parade, more festivities and vendors will be at Robert Coleman Park throughout the afternoon and early evening. They include line dancing, craft tables, card tournaments, a car show and double dutch.

On Sunday, Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church will present a Salute to Gospel Music at 4 p.m.
