Neurosurgeon Jonathan Couch to Join Lourdes Staff

Lourdes and Mercy Medical Associates, in collaboration with University of Louisville Physicians, have hired Neurosurgeon Dr. Jonathan Couch to Mercy Neurosurgery.

Dr. Couch recently completed a Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Fellowship at Semmes-Murphey Neurology and Spine Institute in Memphis, TN. He finished a neurosurgery residency at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, NJ and Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. Dr. Couch graduated from the University of Kentucky and the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville.

Couch’s specialty services include minimally invasive neck and back surgery, and general neurosurgical procedures, such as craniotomy, shunting, and tumor surgery. "We are very enthusiastic to welcome Dr. Jonathan Couch to our extended Neurosurgery Department,” said Dr. Joseph S. Neimat, chair of U of L Physicians – Neurosurgery.

His training at one of the most influential minimally invasive spine programs in the world will provide our department and Lourdes Hospital the ability to deliver the most cutting edge care to our patients in Western Kentucky.” 

His office will be located on the Lourdes Hospital campus in the Marshall Nemer Pavilion at 1532 Lone Oak Road, Suite 143 in Paducah. He will start seeing patients on July 18.  For more information, call 270-538-6700.
