The Murray State Racers scored an 88-75 victory on Senior Day over the Evansville Purple Aces at the CFSB Center on Saturday.

Romon Domon and KJ Tenner each scored 20 points to lead the Racers, while Javon Jackson added 13.

Brayden Shorter scored the rarest of rare 5-point play. He hit a 3-pointer from the wing and nearly simultaneously, the UE bench was hit with a technical foul. Brayden sank both free throws.

The Racers took their first lead of the game with 26 seconds in the half, finishing the half on a 14-3 run to lead at the intermission 37-36.

Evansville couldn't get any closer than nine points the rest of the way.

After the game, the Racers honored seniors Fred King, Javon Jackson, Mason Miller and JJ Traynor and their families.

The Racers (20-10) moved to 12-7 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The win also made head coach Ryan Miller the fourth MSU rookie head coach since 1948 to win 20.

The game marked the final for the MSU men's team at the CFSB Center ahead of the much anticipated phase one renovation of the arena. Work is set to begin after the MSU women's team finishes its schedule, and the KHSAA Region-I basketball tournaments are played.

With their open week ahead, the Racers return to action on March 1, in a 1 p.m. game at Bradley. The final game of the regular season takes the team into the postseason at the MVC Tournament-State Farm Arch Madness, March 5-8 in St. Louis.
