Woman Charged with Hopkinsville Man's Murder

Police have charged a woman with murder, after a man was found shot to death Thursday night inside a Hopkinsville home.

The Hopkinsville Police Department says officers responded shortly before 11:30 p.m. to a report of a shooting at an apartment in the 1800 block of Greenville Road.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found 23-year-old Amareya Freeman with a gunshot wound to his chest. Freeman was pronounced dead later at a local hospital.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Anshanique Leavell and charged her with Freeman's murder, as well as receiving stolen property. According to the police report, Leavell admitted to shooting Freeman.
