State Police have arrested a Hickory woman after two small children were found walking in the roadway Sunday morning.

According to the Kentucky State Police, a trooper responded at around 9:30 am after getting a call about two small children walking in the roadway near the 5000 block of Highway 339 North in Graves County.

The trooper found the children, age 2 and 4, with the caller, who had moved them to a safe place out of the roadway. The trooper located 25-year-old Hannah Taber asleep inside a nearby home. Police said their investigation revealed Taber was responsible for the children but was unaware of their location. They said a similar incident had occurred involving the same children recently.

Troopers arrested Taber and charged her with two counts of first degree wanton endangerment, a class D felony.  She was booked into the Graves County Jail.
