No one was seriously injured when a vehicle struck an Amish buggy Monday morning in Mayfield.

According to the Mayfield Police Department, the collision happened on West Broadway between Beck Lane and Bel-Aire Drive. The driver of the vehicle told officers he didn't see the horse drawn buggy because of dew on his windshield and the rising sun.

The vehicle rear-ended the buggy, ejecting the buggy's three occupants, a father and two children. Mayfield EMS checked all three occupants but none were transported to the hospital. The father told police they would see their family doctor.

Police said the two horses were removed from the scene by a family member, and did not appear to be injured.

The carriage was a total loss. It was loaded on a trailer and taken to the owner's home.

The driver of the vehicle did not appear to be injured, and his vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. Police did not list the driver's name.
