Two men were killed in a three-vehicle collision on I-24 in Christian County Friday morning.
According to Kentucky State Police, 47-year-old Johnny Clark of Joelton, Tennessee, was driving a box truck eastbound on I-24 near the 93 mile marker. For unknown reasons, the truck crossed the eastbound lanes of travel, crossed the median, and traveled through the cable barrier into the westbound lanes.
A car driven by 22-year-old Dalton Dodd of Clarksville, Tennessee was traveling in the left westbound lane. Dodd swerved to the right to avoid a collision with the box truck, and sideswipped a tractor-trailer driven by 65-year old Jeffrey Clark of Hartford, Illinois. Dodd's vehicle then continued off the right side of the road and up an enbankment.
Johnny Clark's vehicle continued left, striking Jeffrey Clark's tractor-trailer head-on. Both men were in their vehicles when they caught fire.
Johnny Clark and Jeffrey Clark were pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner's Office. Dalton Dodd was uninjured in the collision.
Both lanes of I-24 were closed for about eight hours.
