State police are investigating, and a Fulton police officer is on administrative leave after several feral cats were found dead in Fulton.

Trooper Bryan Luckett with Kentucky State Police Post 1 said the Fulton Police Department got a complaint recently from residents alleging that an officer had killed the cats. Fulton Police Chief Terry Powell has reportedly placed an officer on paid administrative leave, but Luckett said he is unsure if that is related to this particular case.

The name of the officer allegedly involved in the case has not been released, and no charges have been filed.

Calls to Chief Powell's office for comment Tuesday morning were not answered.
