A former Kuttawa city clerk and her husband were in court on Monday, where a judge scheduled a trial for next year.

A Lyon County official says Katie and Clayton Harrison appeared before Circuit Judge C.A Woodall, III for a pre-trial conference. The judge scheduled another pre-trial conference for December 2 and a jury trial on May 14, 2020.

Katie Harrison is charged with 24 counts of second degree forgery, abuse of the public trust, tampering with physical evidence, theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and theft by deception over $500. Clayton Harrison faces 10 counts of second degree possession of a forged instrument, theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and theft by deception over $500.

All of the charges followed a Kentucky State Police investigation in August 2018, after officials discovered financial irregularities in two different city accounts. Police couldn't locate the Harrisons, but they were found and arrested in Sevier County, Tennessee in November.
