One person was injured when a tractor trailer wrecked early Saturday morning in Graves County. According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at 5:38am on the Purchase Parkway at the 32 mile marker.

Deputies said the semi, owned by JTI of Paducah and operated by 52-year-old David Jones of Boaz, struck a guardrail, causing the trailer to jackknife. The trailer was torn open by the guardrail and overturned.

The tractor came to rest in the northbound lanes of the parkway. Deputies said the truck had just left Pilgrim's Pride in Hickory and was carrying a load of frozen chickens. The chickens were spilled all over the wreck scene.

Jones was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center for minor injuries. One lane of northbound Purchase Parkway was shut down for several hours to allow for removal and clean up.
